It was a hard time – all these negotiations and calls for the return of money very depressed me. I was bankrupt and my hobby drift lack of funds, I started to look for hobby, which wouldn’t be so expensive and will grant good emotions too. I had like basketball all of my childhood.  And as for many adolescents of that time my idol was Michael Jordan. There was only one thing. Although none of the edges could tell that something is wrong, already from childhood I had trouble with my legs. Twenty minutes of playing active basketball game created plagues of three-day to my extremities. The doctor also advised me that if I want still to walk with my feet, than would be advisable to me refrain from playing basketball. Somehow life at that moment was moved, that I met Latvian team of Wheelchair Basketball.  It was a great recreation – play the ball and not to feel pain after played a great workout. I started very active trainings. It was quite difficult to combine it all with my work, because mostly the training was during the day. Here I got to know very hard-bitten and purposeful people. One moment by accident, reckless action or else were changed their all of life.

In one of the discussions with the executive of Latvian Federation Aigars Miklāvs, he began to tell me how good would be the business to produce wheelchairs of sport, that it would be one lucky thing. Idea again was from the other people, which could bring profits. I called to a man, who repaired the yachts in Latvia and sometimes creates parts for the cars made of carbon fiber. Through negotiation we agreed that if I’ll give drawings, he can make everything from carbon. The program of drawing Solid-work was one of the few subjects in university, which I surrendered very well. Even sometimes I earned extra money by making homework for some students. By devoting a couple of nights at the computer with a measuring tape in hands, the project were ready with drawings of details and put into the hands of a master of carbon. I explained the idea to one friend, because with finances was bad. Edgars agreed to invest in the development of prototype at the time of project. It all ended in failure; because ultimately one wheelchair paid unexpectedly expensive and after numerous impacts during the time of game protective front bumper was unable to hold the load and started to get soft too. Master promised that it can be more durable by adding to the material kevlar but it would be even more expensive. That’s why this project was put on hold. Gap in my budget was only applied to the expansion and understanding what would I like to do in this life only moved away.
