With Kaspars we became acquainted trough playing together wheelchair basketball. He is one of the best players of Latvia, bright personality and one of the best friends of my life. Kaspars simply can be described as follows:

If you set any goal then you go to it and do all for 100% whatever it takes to win. Kaspars doesn’t like to lose. He never gives up and will fight for victory, will not let you to win easily. Therefore compete with him is particularly exciting.

Drift’s my hobby and I know most of the athletes. That’s why I arranged with team of Happy Drift Friends to take for a drive team of Wheelchair Basketball along the track of Biķernieki. To show how they succeed we were taking a video during this event.  Well, Raivis and Kristaps let to ride lightning at that day. They gave pleasure to mates with beautiful ways of sideslip.

This day created in Kaspars such a good feeling so that he decided that he also would like to deal with the drift. It was long harangues about which type of car him to choose. At first he already was ready to buy series M of BMW released in 2011. Of course his enthusiasm was great, it generated a lot of funny emotion, but at the end Kaspars chose the old good E34 fifth series of BMW with a four-liter engine. Already after a week one good friend of Kaspars named Gints was on the way to Germany for new car of sport. It was installed on hand control, put shock absorbers of sport just it was here in Latvia. And already that weekend we were going to Drifting Cup Link of Latvia in Daugavpils.

Of course, without any training and experience Kaspars had little chance to qualify. And at the end of course he didn’t. But after races we were staying on the track one more day. In the end of this day the track and car was acquired and he already drove with a smell of rubber and  swirl of smoke  behind as he would be doing it for years.  Kaspars was training very hard for the next race, he practically lived in track of Jelgava. It brought the first laurels and he entered TOP 8, which is a very good indicator for the second time. It began his goal– path to the pedestal. As you already catch on with hand control in his car and wheelchair basketball, his backbone‘s broken. Unsuccessful maneuver with the tractor of colleague of his work, snagged metal construction and altered all his life. Despite that, lots of achievements and set goals came true and he continues to enjoy life.

Meanwhile drift sport Kaspars trains in the gym and maintains the proper nutrition too. In May, he will take a part in competitions of bodybuilding in Riga. How do you think who will win? I already know it!
